Upcoming Student Ministry Events
At the Church of
Christ, our youth are important to us. We take special care in
developing biblical knowledge as well as fine tuning their spiritual
walk. The Kimball Church of Christ offers youth programs such as
Wednesday Night Youth Groups, Sunday Morning Bible Classes and many
other youth related activities that bring the kids outside of the
church.
September marked my two year anniversary serving with Kimball Church of Christ and looking back we have seen a lot of growth. The first youth group meeting we had two years ago we had 25 people including 4 sponsors. In the past two years we have seen both numerical and spiritual growth in our students and sponsors. It is because of this growth that we are excited to communicate a different strategy for ministry to our students who attend youth group. The first of these changes that we are excited to announce is that we are going to add the 5th graders to the ranks of the youth ministry. And the second announcement is that we are creating a new ministry. This ministry will be headed up by Shelly Olson along with Brian and Julie Tagney. Shelly has been with the youth ministry here in Kimball for over 5 years, while Brian and Julie has 6 + years of experience in youth ministry making them both very qualified for this endeavor. This new ministry will be called 58 Club, ministering to the students who make up the classes 5th – 8th grade. This group will meet in the Fellowship Hall, while the Senior High Students meet in the youth room. We will be meeting on Wednesday’s at 7:00 until 8:00 pm unless otherwise communicated. Here is a list of the sponsors for both ministries. The 58 Club ministry consists of Shelly Olson, Brian and Julie Tagney, Karen Doran, Penny Blanchard, and Bill Appenzeller. The Senior High ministry consists of myself, Paul Arnold, Paula Capes, Devin Goff, Jessica Goff, Justin Goff, Phil Johnson, Cory Mansicka, Jon Miller, Susie Murray, Mandy Rowland, and Tammy Wiseman. We will both be operating under the same theme this year, which is BROKEN. Even with this different strategy, our goal and purpose are still the same, “to empower and equip students to become servants.” As usual if you have any questions, concerns or desire to partner with us you can contact me via phone, email or in person. Thanks for your continued support. In his continued service,
Steve Rowland
